2008 KI Tribute Dinner - Gifts to Israel Thanks to the success of our recent Tribute Dinner honoring the Jeffers and Rubins and celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Israel, KI recently made a number of very generous donations to support organizations in Israel. KI selected the following four outstanding organizations to support that are all bringing vital services to children and adults throughout Israel:
Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger - to help fund the establishment of a national food bank in Israel to provide food assistance and resources to help the one and half million Israelis who live in poverty and live with the risk of hunger every day.
Jaffa Institute - The Institute for the Advancement of Education in Jaffa is a private, non-profit, multi-service social agency that assist thousands of severely disadvantaged children and their families in Israel.
Jewish National Fund - to plant trees in Israel and to directly impact the lives of the children of Sderot by providing them with the chance to simply be kids by helping to build the largest indoor playground in Israel as a safe place for them to play.
Ethiopian Absorption Center - to provide all the basic necessities for new Ethiopian immigrants to Israel, including education, clothing, money and a place to live. The organization?s mission is to bring as many Jews as possible to live in Israel and to ensure their successful integration into Israeli society.
