Kehillat Israel Ernest and Lisa Auerbach Family Religious School Curriculum

For Reconstructionists, Judaism is more than a religion; it is a civilization encompassing history and literature, art and music, land and language, as well as spirituality and ritual. We seek a Judaism that promotes innovation which is deeply rooted in Jewish tradition, while reflecting the understandings and spiritual yearnings of contemporary Jews.

At Kehillat Israel, we welcome diversity and embrace all families that are committed to raising Jewish children. As educators we recognize that each child is an individual with a unique set of strengths and interests. Children thrive in our open, creative, welcoming, and nurturing environment. Torah, prayer, Jewish living skills, celebrations, arts, history, culture, ethics, values and Hebrew are all part of the program. By offering our students a wide range of experiences in which to encounter their Jewish heritage, we hope to empower them to find their niche in the fabric of Jewish life.
